Hi guys,

I am trying to sell my wife's Accord. It would make someone a great car, very dependable.

It is a 2001 Honda Accord EX
-154k mi
-Sunroof
-6 disk in-dash cd changer
-Remote keyless entry
-power everything
-2.4L VTEC 4cyl
-Automatic
-Alloy Wheels

The good:
My wife has owned this car since new.
Only 154000 miles (most on craigslist and autotrader are over 200k)
Oil changed every 3000-3500mi with Synthetic Blend oil
New transmission replaced under recall at 99k, so only has 54k on it (work
done by Economy Honda)
New timing belt, water pump and belts last summer (work done by Economy
Honda)
New brake pads front and rear, rotors turned last summer- Sears
Two new Kumho tires from Sears last summer (two Michelins still have over
60% tread)
Cloth on seats still in great condition (no tears, stains, etc)
We have been getting 27 MPG driving in town to and from work!!
Other than the minor cosmetic things below, the it should not need anything
mechanically for quite a while

The Not-So-Good:
Some scratches, door dings, and scuffs (nothing major or through the metal)
The only spot the paint is coming off is on the plastic piece of the side
view mirrors
Was in a small rear end accident 4 years ago (Abra Auto Body replaced rear
bumper, no sheet metal work needed)
Power door locks are beginning to stick, don't always lock/ unlock (the
driver's door works fine every time. I have priced new actuators on-line
for about $30 per door)
Rear trunk release does not work from interior pull handle. (still works
with remote and with key in trunk. I have priced new release mechanism for
about $60)
Small area 6"x8" where carpet appears worn in rear footwell (happened about 9 years ago after carrying a battery, so my guess is that
some battery acid burned it.)
Paint on some radio buttons have been worn, but all still work

I am asking $5895 on Craigslist, but would take $5k from a forum member. Please email me if you would like to make an offer.

Re: 2001 Honda Accord for Sale

Sharp car for sure! Ive been looking for one for my daughter's first ride, and it amazes me the difference in what some folks call 'NICE'?!?! If I had that much $$$ to spend, I'd be all over this one...

I agree, even when looking at dealerships! We have gone many miles to look at a car that the dealer had listed as "Brand new condition" and had rips all in the leather that had been horribly patched. On a 3 year old vehicle!!!

Good luck in your search!
