2002 225 EFI will NOT run.

I have a 2002 225 EFI. I went to the lake today to fish. After putting the boat in the water and parking my truck, I started the motor to let it idle while I retied one of my rods. After retying I put the boat in gear and got up on plane. At that time the motor started to miss and cut off. It wouldn’t start back. I put new plugs in but it didn’t help. What could be wrong?

my 98 200 EFI did the same thing about 5 years ago and it was the computer. I changed plugs and did not help went to the riverpark put in, ckanked up the motor and it died and cranked up again,died again then would not crank up at all. sorry I felt your pain I took off a week to fish and the boat was in the shop the hole time (in October)

How much was the computer?

Took it to Nichols Marine and to put it one the computer to find out what was wrong with it, replace it and tune it up and replace the water pump was around 1000 dollars all new, I think you can get rebuilt ones too

Have you ruled out a problem in the fuel line? Loose or clogged fitting? Hole in the line allowing air in, etc?

Thanks for all the help guys. I changed the fuel line and bulb today, and now the boat is running like a champ. You guys are number one in my book. emoThumbsup
