Raise your hand if you remember how fun and entertaining the old CFF tournaments were?

Me too! We always seemed to enjoy ourselves with good fishing, good fellowship, and a fair amount of good ribbing. The entries were always low and we tried to pay a reasonable way down the line, but it was always less about the money and more about the fun anyway. With that in mind, some of us have sought a return to our old friendly tournaments. A few details are still being ironed out, but you'll see a lot of the old with a little of the new. New - for example - are an announced schedule and events run by committee as opposed to events run by individual members.

The CFF Tournament Committee is made up of a lot of our old faces as well as some new blood for that fresh perspective, but all of us have experience running tournaments and all want the same things: tournaments that are FUN, inexpensive, promote greater involvement of our bass fishing members, and help to promote the Chattanooga Fishing Forum as a useful tool for bass anglers.

The CFF Tournament Committee is made up of cutthroat, Wet Willie, TAzGa, flip1up, Pointer 78, XLDVee, Bprice, churly, BBass, and yours truly.

Payouts and rules will be posted soon, but we wanted to go ahead and get this schedule up so ya'll can begin marking-up your shiny new oh-niner calendars. We're looking forward to this, ya'll ...

Thanks Lance, but this is really a group effort. We wanted to mix it up some and open up our lakes a little ... very much like we use to do.

I look forward to seeing you at these buddy!

It took a few meetings and cold beers to nail it down. ;) Great bunch of guys on the committee...Im sure we'll have a blast at these events.

What does it take to qualify to fish in tournaments?

jake - The qualifier that has been set for the series is 150 total CFF posts PER BOAT. In other words, you could have 1 and your partner could have 149, but as a BOAT, you've met the post minimum in order to fish. In fact, members may bring non-member guests, so long as the member has at least 150 posts.

The post qualifier originated for two reasons: 1) to thank CFF members who vest their time and feedback on here regularly by contributing to other members, and 2) to try and encourage others to do the same.

Chris - we couldn't agree more, and thank you. There was a lot of talk as to whether we would try to host an event on the Big G, but it's a tough lake to pass up at that time of year and - as I'm sure you noticed - its the only scheduled visit there as well. We elected to keep everything else on the Chick and Nick, just move the launch venues around to keep things fresh.

Billy has the payout schedule up now ... check it out!

Once we have the rules ready to post, I'll make a Sticky "CFF Tournament Trail". That thread that will have the format, rules, payout and schedule in it.

I am looking forward to this trail, and if gas prices stay decent I plan on fishing them all. I can't WAIT for March on Guntersville. Heavy sacks to everyone!

Ok. I'm looking for a partner.

Something to consider Lance, is that this is the first time we've ever tracked points for CFF Tx's, but all points will accumulate based on the individual vs. the boat. What this means is that we're not locked into set partners for the entire trail and we can hop in and out other's boats all we want. Once the rules are posted, you'll see the point format more clearly.

I'll fish one with you! ;)

Sweet schedule and payout! Looking forward to a return to the "Good ol' days"emoGrouphug!

I'm interested in partnering with somebody who could commit to the majority of the events...shoot me a PMemoCool.

I have never really fished tourneys and probably wouldnt do to good but im thinking about doing for the practice and to join some of you guys and make some new friends..

It's a great way to put names with faces Josh. Not to mention.......the bull session afterwards along with all the lies being told is worth the price of admission.
no doubt sounds like fun maybe I can partner with some of the professionals on here and learn a thing or two :)
