The Monday Night "B&B" Dogfight experienced tremendous growth in 2009. We started the season with 6 boats and by season end we were regularly hosting 20+ boats. We picked up strong support from the former "58" Monday dogfight tournament when they switched to Thursday nights. In essence it was sort of a merger of two established tournaments into one larger tournament.

I have had several discussions with fishingben about how we can improve the “B&B” Dogfight Tournament in 2010. Ben has had follow up conversations with about a dozen of the weekly regulars from the “B&B” TX. The opinion of everyone that has been contacted is this is a good plan and they endorse it fully. The format will be slightly different than in past years and will be a little more organized and structured. Our goal is to keep this a friendly, competitive and well run tournament. I was fortunate enough to have several of the former RABTS sponsors agree to back the "B&B" tournament. These are all Cleveland/Bradley County area sponsors and they are not currently sponsors of any other tournament series. We still have a few details to work out and dollars to raise but the final product should be very close to the explanation listed below. (The payout figures are simply goals and not written in stone yet. I do have solid commitments for over half of the dollars already. The Invitational Payouts may be altered if enough sponsor dollars are not raised.)</p>

Entry Fee will remain the same: $20 and $5.00 for big fish per boat.

Well, Looks like there is little opposition to our proposed changes. So, we will proceed on this course. We will work to flesh out the details and have them ready to post before TX time. As always though, this will remain a "fishocracy" owned by no particular person and it will be the responsibilty of the attendees to shape the tx to the way they feel it should go. You don't like something or feel like something should be changed or added then its on you to take the iniative to change or add it. PM Kirk or myself with any proposed changes or things you'd like to see added. The only thing we will not compromise on is the number of tx's a team must fish to qualify for the money. That is no negotiable or circumnavigable for a reason. Also, For a partner to be eligible to fish with an invitee in the classics they must have fished at least one regular season tx per classic with the partner they are planning to go with.

Looks Great. call when you need to talk about how we can help

You and Patrick both will be needed to help make this TX run smoothly. I am still in the pre-planning and sponsor mode right now. Once I get a clear picture of where the dollars end up sponsor wise we will start planning on how to pull this off. As always, we will need someone checking live wells, a spotter to look for late arrivals and someone to record the weights at the weigh in. I will probably need someone to weigh the fish this year. That frees me up to take pictures to post with the results.

If you know of potential sponsors don't be afraid to ask them for their support. (Please don't contact any of the CBA, BITE, other large tournament sponsors).
There are plenty of other sponsors out there.

Yeah there's going to be a lot more participation from everybody involved this year and yes we will draw numbers this year for blast off and have talked about how we will do this a little bit already. PM me or Kirk with your ideas.

I have blast off numbers we can draw. We just need to iron out how we will blast off. Single file or in flights.

i like the new structure alot i suggest flights of 15 whenever you get flyer ideas i can help with that drawing them up if needed or anything else

Abosolutely Bart! That's what we want is as much volunteering and ownership of this by the people that fish it as we can get. This belongs to ya'll...the people that fish it, not us cause we're overseeing it or any corporation that will profit from it. The only persons that can profit from this are the people and sponsors that are directly and actively involved. You'll get out of this what you put into it. Be involved. Be a part of making the tournament your own. It Belongs To Everyone Who Fishes It. Its YOUR Tournament. Now, make it awesome. This is gonna be soooo cool.

SPONSOR UPDATE

As of today, I have confirmed sponsor dollars totaling $1500.

ERMC
Volunteer Rid-A-Pest
Orbit Oil Company
J. FRED JOHNSON INSURANCE

We will need to raise an additional $1500 to make the proposed payouts possible.

If you fished this tournament in 2009 or plan to start fishing with us in 2010, help us reach this goal by helping us find some sponsors. If you want to become a fund raiser (associate sponsor coordinator) for our "fishocracy" shoot me an email I will send you some forms.

I talked to fishingben a couple of weeks ago and we plan to hold a planning meeting in the next few weeks. Might have it at the B&B Restaurant or some other local eatery.

I will post the date when we decide to hold it.

We will be holding the 2010 planning meeting the second week of January. If you are interested in being part of the planning committee get in touch with me or Ben Biller as soon as you can.

We had a great turnout last year and hope to grow even more this year.

I will post the date and time next week. (Ben has offered his home and cooking skills for the meeting).

This is going to be a fantastic year at the B&B monday night dogfight. I'm really looking forward to it. BTW. If I called you to ask for your input this last year than you are welcome to attend the planning meeting. Certain of you however, will be requested and expected to attend the planning meeting whether you like it or not!!! Just kidding. We do hope to see all of you soon. Happy New Year from the B&B dogfight crew!
