It's been another great turkey season in GA. I finished up the season this past Friday with another excellent hunt with my buddy. We knew where we needed to be at daylight, but when we got there it was silent.

We knew there were several more longbeards in the area and decided to wait it out. It didn't take and after about 10 minutes of silence, we were greeted with a distant gobble. Over the next 10 minutes the bird has worked into 200 yards but we have a problem. Two hens are flanking us and heading to the gobbler. There was a branch that seperated the hens from the gobbler and my buddy had the sense to jump in the low spot and try and bust those hens out of the area. While he was throwing rocks at hens emoTongue I started getting aggressive with the bird and had him double gobbling. My buddy somehow gets back to the tree 5 yards behind me and watches the show unfold. The gobbler strutted into 30 yards and caught a case of Hevi poisioning!!! #3 Down.

Pretty good, for public land! I turkey hunt in Chattoga county. This season was ok. I called in four, killed one.
