A new to me 225 Optimax has a miss. It occurs at 2400-2800 RPM after 3000 RPM it is gone. I seems to run strong after 3000. I replaced the bulb (the old one seemed too hard to prime) but it still won't get hard emoLaugh emoLaugh . I added some Seafoam to the tank and took it for a ride today. I thought it had fixed it but it started to miss again. Any ideas on the problem?

You may have some bad fuel .Mine has a small miss while ideling is this what you are talking about? If so I have asked the same question and the answers I get is that it is normal.

Could be a number of things. You might consider changing to the new ethanol resistant fuel line. Start with line gray line from the bulb to the tank. There is also a fuel/water filter on the engine. Plugs are certainly a possibility as are failed/failing injector or coil, etc. I highly recommend you get it to a qualified Optimax mechanic to be diagnosed properly. Doing so may prevent an expensive repair. Good luck!

Spoke to him a little while ago....Too late on the expensive repair. It failed knocking a hole in the block. My money is on a poorly flowing injector. </p>

That's too bad. Having a tech pull the codes from the computer could have indicated the potential problem and, possibly, prevented that catastrophe. Too much money involved to be guessing on these engines, IMO. Have a good weekend!
