Folks, I don't post very often (as I live in OH and get down to TN 2-3X p/ year), but had to post a winning stringer caught in TN below the 68/80 bridge on KY Lake. We fished the Sportsmans Edge Spring Opener on KY/ Barkley Lakes. In all 146 teams entered and over 10+ sacks of 20lb+ (5 fish limits) were weighed. The winning team had 27.05lbs of fish (ALL SMALLMOUTH). It was scary how big these fish were....we had 9.2lbs on 4 fish. Sometimes you just can't compete. Here is a photo.

Geez!!! One of those in a day would be nice (and enough to make a grown (wo)man cry) but 5 of them!?!!?!?! Would love to know their magic bait and where.

Hey Fusion Man!! Long time no hear from. How's it going? Your buddy Corey (Yankee Skeeter) is having shoulder problems today. He just about got it torn off at Guntersville yesterday. He wanted me to tell you that!!

Ok boys and gals, big bass was a 7.0lb SMALLIE!!!!!! Again, can not say how hard and how intense the smallmouths came to the points during the tourney. These folks absolutely put a spanking on the fish. One guy reported losing a LM at the side of the boat that had a 1lb crappie stuck in it's throat. All it had was a large tail sticking out of the mouth. The guy was fishing a rattle trap and had the trap caught on the fish tail and side of the largemouths mouth!!!! Unbelievable. (Hey- - -Whenwegoin: Good to hear from you as well. Can't say enough about the spots you showed us. What fun! Can't wait to get back down to catch up. Hope to see you soon. Tell Corey I said hello!)

Oh, forgot to mention the "magic bait and where". These guys were fishing below the 68/80 bridge, on the Eastern bank, and fishing points across from Ken Lake Marina and south. They were throwing rattle traps and jerkbaits. The key was to let the bait sit for 3-10 seconds between jerks....just letting the bait pause. What a load of smallmouths!
