I fished 2jigs secret spot in H bay state park today, got there at 3:30 and fished till 5:00.I caught a little spot on my first cast with a chart/midnight
finness worm on a dropshot and I thought I was going to have a great trip, not so...that was the only bite I got!
Great looking spot though, thanks for the tip 2jigs!

That really is a neat looking spot. That point is really unique. The vertical "plates of rock are very interesting. It is steep there that's for sure. The old creek channel goes right by that point. Fish, like he says should stack up there at times. I marked a lot of fish there and in close areas to that point.

I've been thinking about heading down there before school one day next week. This week the wind has either been blowing in the wrong direction or not at all. I need a west wind for my pattern to be effective.

I also attend Chatt State. I have evening classes Tuesday through Thursday. If I finish up with work early, I usually fish somewhere in the vicinity until class begins.

That spot does look pretty nice! When I fished it I came up with nothing...I guess it had already been fished and it was a tough day anyway. I bet it's great in the Spring.

Thanks for sharing 2jigs!

Nope...I assumed they were 2jigs'. With all the panfishing paraphernalia on the ground, it looks like one of those spots where old men spend the day sitting on 5gal buckets watching a bobber.

50semoGeezer...although at 33 I'm beginning to feel old. My youngest brother just got his drivers license...he was a toddler when I met my wifeemoEek.

First of all jason I don't drink. Second if I caught someone littering around there . I'd pick up my cell phone & call the park ranger, if they were luckey! Nothing crawls all over me like having a beautiful place like that & see some @#*$# redneck nastying it all up for everybody eles. But anyways, it doesn't matter if some one has fished it or not. Most people can't read the place rite. I don't know how many times I've gott'n there rite as someone was leaving, with them telling me how I was wasting my time, and wore them out. There wont always be bass or always crappie. But if you are fishing off the bank & you give it a real fighting chance you'll catch fish. It may be little yellow stripe, but you will catch fish. One of the best tools for up there is a slip bober. But when it's 95 outside this summer & you want to have some fun. Take one of those lite up bobers & 2 or 3 doz. minnows. No sinker throw rite off of the point 3-15 ft. And hang on. I've got 25lb. blue cats & turn around & catch a 3.5 largemouth.

I was kidding about the drinking, 2jigs. And, like you, littering ticks me off. Seriously, how hard can it be to clean up after yourself? Whether it is on the water or in the woods, I constantly find the trash left behind from someone who could care less.

2jigs, I meant to ask earlier and forgot...what is a toughie/tuffie minnow?

Sorry, didn't mean to fly off the handle. I hadn't eaten dinner & was a little jumpy I guess. Any ways yes a tuffie minnow. I know everyone has their own preference on how they hook them. I've found if I use tuffies & hook them rite behind the dorsal fin careful not to hit thr spine. I get a lot more action out of them & they'll last longer. In the early spring I'll change over to the shiner minnows on sunny days. The bait is more likely to attract a strike from the flash rather than the vibrations that say a tuffie would make, and since the fish are more active you don't need the bait to stay alive as long anyways. I know it doesn't seem like much of a difference. But the fish want what they want. It was like I said to my fishing partner today(are you throwing that bait because you think the'll bite it, or you want them to bite it)? He changed & started catching fish. By the way if you get out the next day or two try a brown hair jig/black pork chunk. they were eating mine like crazzy at nick. We went to the back of a few slues & actualy caught bass in one to two ft. of water. I couldn't beleave it, the water temp. was 47-49 degrees. Anyways try it if you get a chance let me know how it goes good luck. ...2jigs...

jason, a tuffie or toughy is what they call the small minnows that you buy at the bait store. I think that it's just a local name. I'm not sure which species that the minnows are. I think that they are some species of carp. I know that the minnows that I buy at Hamilton's they call tuffies.
