How about it guys? I had PM's from 7 members asking for info after the first hunt, etc, would love to hear how your hunts went. </p>

I promised my wife I wouldnt say bad words, but..... emoAngel Im kidding, but I will say in all honesty I didnt have a very good time, due to the massive amount of people who thought it beneficial to trad on my sacred round after they ate there hardees biscuit around 7:00 am. I got to the gate both mornings around 3:30 and around 7:00 it never failed to have people walking in, but I guess thats part of it. Needless to say I didnt drop anything. I saw the overlook and it looked like a braves game. I know several guys that got does by 8:00 the first morning, but no bucks were taken. Maybe another will chime in but I personally havent been more unhappy with a hunt ever. I had several in my group that had taken off work only to hunt other land the second day. Sorry to be negative, but just didnt have a good time

Wetaline, couldn't agree with you more! I quit putting in for this hunt after experiencing the same issues you talk about. Too many people hunting in too small of an area. Hunters on top of hunters. Hunters walking on top of you all day long. I had some idiot climb a tree 50 yards from me even though I was shining him off with my flashlight. This hunt is a joke!!!!

Agreed with the previous posts. Me and Alvin (Basser#9) hung our stands LATE Sunday for the pricipal purpose of looking for other stands previously hung in the area (also at the scenic overlook). Monday morning looked like a funeral precession at 5am, and I wondered why so many guys would wait until opening morning of the hunt to hang their stands?!? There was at least 10 guys within a hundred yards of me/Alvin, although the deer didnt seem to mind (until mid-day monday). I missed twice and Alvin did kill his doe at about 1pm Monday. After mid-day Monday, the deer got so spooky that if an acorn dropped, they bolted.

I did see 4 different bucks, although none of them were shooters.

I did accomplish one of my main goals....to avoid the other hunters. I had a big ridge all to myself. Only 1 truck even drove down the road I was on. However, I didn't see one deer after staying in the stand the whole day. On tuesday evening, I walked one of the mt biking trails slipping very quiely through the woods and didn't see, spook, or hear one deer. I did see a ton of deer heading through the no hunting zone into VW.

O.k. So here is my question? Is the only area they let you hunt the nature park itself? If so that kinda sucks it to small for 80+ hunters.

The answer is yes but they open the gates on the north end to allow you access to some of the property on the outside of the fences. However, you can't scout that area.

There is plenty of area for 80 hunters, problem is, people are gonna hunt where they saw bucks, the Kudzu. So most everybody piled in there and overran each other. Now that I now where NOT to hunt, Ill never get drawn again.. emoLaugh
