3/11/07 chick crappie/catfish

We still had a little bait left from the cold cat classic so I decided to run up to the nuke plant today had one good bite but he got off after just about pulling my wife in. We had a full boat today with my dad and me and Christy in the boat. The fish just didn't seem turned on at the nuke plant I was really hoping to get a picture of Christy holding up a monster kitty but it didn't work out. We then went back in to wolftever and caught about 30 or 40 crappie with only 3 being keepers. Got to speak to polo as well and he was just tearing them up off of his dock. I need to figure out what yall are doing to catch all those keepers. The few keepers we did catch were scattered around the channel. The smaller ones were around the docks. I thought we would do better but it may have been an operator error more then anything else. All in all it was a great day on the water the company was great and we had lots of bites to keep it interesting.

The crappies were thick late in the afternoon on a special brushpile off my dock but most were small. I did catch three keepers and foodsaver and his family were nice enough to share the three that they caught with me and so I have a bunch for my in-laws to eat later this week. Thanks again foodsaver and it was great to see you and your family out there enjoying the beautiful weather.

It was great to be out there. I just need to figure out how to catch the ones like you got today! I was suprised how much Christy liked the crappies I figured she would want to head in by 2:30 or 3:00 but it was 5:30 or 6:00 and we were still going strong. I bet if I had some food we coulda made it till dark.
