We had two hits that either came unbuttoned or dropped the baits...debate continues as to the size of those fish.

Gentry was first to get to the rod and you would have thought he was in a bass TX the way he was cranking on that rod! After we got him settled down to fight the fish, a 32lb blue came into view, I though he and Jason we going to pass out.... At least we broke the ice!

Jason, after giving Gentry a hard time about getting so excited, did the same, but managed to get his to the boat, reeling in a 15lb blue. Both personal bests of course, but we really thought we had found that "spot".

It was about an hour before another good hit after moving to a nearby hole and I reeled in an 18 lb Flat-head, this fish really tricked me when it hit, I had even said out-loud, "must be a small fish". It realized it was hooked right after that and gave me a good fight. It was my first ever flat head, and a PB of course!

Glad you enjoyed my home erik! The painted bluff (the one you refer to) is the prettiest place I have ever seen on the Tennessee River. Glad mike treated you well. You were just upriver of minner and my "game winner" hole.

Awesome strech of river Brandon. I really like how un-spoiled it is without houses, docks, and jet skies!!! How tall is the painted bluff?

I could begin to guess man, I'd say 200 is fairly accurate. It is a almost totally unspolied stretch. From gunterville dam to decatur (45 miles) there are 2 boat docks, a few houses, and about 4 landings. Then you get to decatur and its pandalerium again. The jet skis do hang around ditto landing though, which is 25 miles down from the dam

Enjoyed every minute of it Eric......It was a tad slow......Those guys should be on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour...lol

Congrats on the PB's

It really is nice to find a quiet and scenic place and then top it off with some friends and nice fish, cool, guys!

That part of the river is really scenic. I would say I would rank it right up there with Raccoon mountain.I have fond memories of Paint Rock and the first bluff. The first bluff, Mike has put a buddy and me on a 62, 66, 68. I'd take a 18 lb flattie any day of the week.

Paint Rock is great in the summer and fall, people try to climb it and it's quite entertaining. They never do it.

Nice going Spur, your friends will remember the trip forever or untill the next time. Great fishing with a good guide.

Nice trip, glad you guy got on some fish after a while, I havent done any good on the flatheads, how did it eat or is he swiming still ??
