Trying to decide if I can get by with a 30" or 40" electric smokers. Maybe about 4 pork butts or 14 pound turkey. Leaning towards the 30". Durability? Ease of use?
Just my thoughts, but I would stay away from electric. I had one and it didnt do worth a darn. I am not sure if you have ever used one before, but you can only use chips with it. I like charcoal with wood chunks. I know Lowe's has a nice propane/charcoal one that has great reviews.
I've owned 4 smokers. A Brinkman Bullet which is a decent starter deal. A really nice Joes that I refurbed and that thing was great! Sold it to a member here. Then I got a master built electric...and a Kingsford reverse. Sold them both last weekend. The electric is great for keeping a solid temp but lacks on the flavor you want. Go big money on an electric..If not then steer clear. It's a waste!

With that said...I've built a new one and as far as holding temp and hours of it...This thing kicks ass! Got 65 bucks in it.
