4.0 Update for Lowrance hds

Hey guys i just got a hds unit and im trying to update it i downloaded the update to a new sd card and when i put the card in and turn the unit on nothing happens so i try to do it manully and it says i dont have enough room to download it but the unit has no way points or any files saved on it any suggestions Thanks!

you probably put the update directly on your card.
you can't do that
put the card into your card reader and then run the update on your computer
when you run it, it will prompt you where to install it
install it to your card
then put the card back into your HDS unit and it will work

A lot of people make this mistake

Its complicated it took me several times to install but cant remember how I did it. If you need help I have the download if you want to meet. 364-0229, Leonard. I have adapter for my truck if you units are removable, or I can do it on your boat if flush mounted.
