Went out yesterday with my Father in law ( Johnny) and Brother inlaw ( Derrick)...Derrick is from Wisconson and had never caught a blue Catfish. We got there around 2:30 and fished till about 10 pm. Johhny caught a 16..11..and then his PB...45lbs!!!. Derrick caught a 17..16..and 25 lb....All PB catfish!! Bite was VERY slow I assume due to very little current. We also caught a stringer full of bluegills while we waited. It was a very relaxing and fun evening with some of my family that I dont get to spend alot of time with.

We were on Chickamauga. Using cut skipjack for bait for the cats and night crawlers for the bluegills. Water temp was 68 - 70 degrees depending on where you were at. It rained on and off all day but we were using my dad in laws pontoon boat which has a top on it so we just kept right on fishing...in the dryemoToast

You've got the patience of Jobe. I can't hardly sit in one spot for 30 minutes ... I always have to go "lookin' for hot fish." Maybe someday I'll learn to slow down and wait 'em out! Way to go.

Way to go. emoThumbsup . I have got family coming down from north east Iowa in june and they want to get a big blue cat also. Save a few for usemoBigsmile .

I know some folks who take a DVD player and watch movies to help with the patience.

Im one of those guys. we bought one just for the occasion...I say its for when we take my little girl with us..but the truth is I have my favorite movies I like to watch to pass the time too.emoBigsmile I hope the bite picks up soon so I wont have to even think about taking something to pass the time. I remember back in the summer months it seemed like I stayed busy with just one or two rods baited...Im sure its gonna fire up soon though. Yesterday some of the bites were so subtle you had to really pay close attention to even know you had one on!!! It seemed to pick up a little just as the sun was going down....The blugills shut off at dark though.

Way to go there Wade, I know Johnny had a great time fishing ,but I'm sure he had a better time, spending the day with you.emoToast

drc, where you been? Did you hibernate for the winter?

Yeah, I stayed off the water most of the winter, but I have been fishing a good bit the last few weeks (mostly crappie and bass). I'm not doing that great with either one.... at least I'm learning what doesn't work, lol.

Just because you're not fishin', or catchin', doesn't mean you can't pop in and say "Hi!" emoBigsmile emoPoke

RE: April Fools CATS

Jmax, do you really not see where WLG is fishing. If you look at the pics it is very easy to see where he is. The area has been beaten to death and photographed from every angle imaginable here on the forum and you still, really, don't know where he was fishing? Maybe you need new glasses my friend:eek:  Just joshing with you 'bro.
