I took my sons friend fishing about a week ago. Found a tree and started fishing. I threw in near the bank at the base of the tree and 1st cast caught a good bass. I reeled it in and was taking the hook out , I heard this POW . I looked around at Aaron , and he's standing there with half his pole on the boat , half of it in his hands , and line everywhere , lol. He said he had a fish on , but I thought he was just hung up on a tree limb , so I continued to take my bass off. Then he said , I've got a fish on . So , lol , he started pulling the line in with his hands. I noticed it was coming in . I looked at the end of the line and saw a flash , and then , big splash and I seen a big mouth . Wow , he had hooked one. So , lol , he pulled it by hand to the boat and landed the 4 pounder. It was soo cool to watch. He was soo nervous . He only had a small push button rod and reel and it did not hold up to well, lol. What a day , I didnt even remember releasing mine . Biggest bass I've seen live since I"ve been on the water for 3 weeks now. Bass fishing is soo awesome.

Fat Albert has to tell the story of taking his brother-in-law fishing... Aw, what the heck, I'll tell it! He's umping in Cleveland tonight.

It was Gary's first fishing trip ever! Somehow he manages to catch an 8.5 lb bass! Even today, he says he doesn't fish because it's only downhill from there!! emoLaugh

Here's the story.... He was visiting me and did not have clothes, fishing gear, food, etc. You know the type. Decided we would go fishing and called a friend which met us at Sale Creek. We had not been fishing 15 min when B-i-L hung into this fish on a deep wee R. and while he remained seated in the driver's seat he played this monster, did not get excited one bit. Me and Richard were going crazy as I netted the fish after he got it close to the boat. NEVER GOT UP.... I HAD TO GET THE HOOK FROM THE FISH .. PUT HER IN THE LIVE WELL...CLEAN PANTS..Maybe he did not know he was supposed to get excited, I don't know. Well, after that he was ready to go home, with this attitude we wanted to throw him in the lake...
8 and half pounder it was. I have found out through my years of fishing that It always happens like that. rookie catches the big one....
