Lots of anglers complain that, because of all the bass tournaments being held out of Dayton's Richland Creek, thousands of quality bass are "transplanted" from other parts of the lake to the back end of tiny Richland Creek. Now there is a plan, and money, to try and address that issue. Here's the details: https://bit.ly/RedistributeChickBass

Professional anglers filing out of Dayton's Richland Creek.

That should help. I love the MLF model but that's not practical with finding that many impartial judges. Is there anyway to start photographing the measurements of a fish and just put em back where they came from? Change from lbs to inches of fish? Seems like with technology these days you should be able to time stamp a picture of a fish on a golden rule. Of course someone will probably try to cheat the system.

Great info. Will the release boat just be used for CBA tourneys?

No, all tournaments out of Dayton I assume. And some CBA events as outlined in article.

i hope this boat will be used to release the bass YEAR ROUND and not just "low water" periods AND be made available to Dayton for use more than the 10 or 12 cba tournaments

this is still a developing story...there is a lot more news that will come out on this project by the time we get started up next year.

My game warden buddies always offer two sentiments in regards to a “live release” boat

1) they are used so the dead fish are no longer floating near the ramps (out of sight out of mind)

2) easiest over the limit ticket to write in history

Before everyone starts bashing and ***ching, I for one am glad to see that someone gives a crap about the health of our fishery! Like I said, there will be a lot more to come of this than what has already been put out.

The fact that the fish would be released back into deeper water where they can get to a depth and acclimate is a huge factor. The boat should be for any tournament to use and should be used all year long. There is planty of corporate dollars funding these things. TX has been doing it for years. Also, that is one sexy boat in front... :)

I think it’s a great idea and am surprised if anyone thinks it’s bad. People always find something to complain about. This world is a crazy place. Special thanks to all who are involved in this project! Very much appreciated!!!!

I for one think its a great ideal. But dont think it should be CBA responsibility. It should the ones that prosper from tourments out of Richland Creek. They should atelast be taking them out of that creek back to the river. But however CBA has and will be a great organization that gets the job done. So Thank you for getting this ball rolling.
