5-2-2006 Chick. was good to us

Me and my buddy hit Chester Frost this evenin from about 6:30 to 7:30. Didn't have much time to fish, but man was it awesome. I may have ruint NRG's gameplan for CFF5 by catching fish in his areas.


We fished from Camp Columbus boat ramp, all the way around to behind that little island. We covered the swimming area and stopped at those docks in front of the big brick houses behind the island. My buddy owns the first dock closest to Camp Columbus. If you ever see a short little dude fishing from there holler at him.

Anyways folks you are cheating yourself if you aren't throwing a dark colored worm right now. We caught 9 fish in 1 hour with 5 keepers. I'd say our 5 best would go 12-13lbs.! Man how I wish we had been fishing the Soddy Dog Fight.
Anyways, our fish were caught on T-rigged Zoom Mag II worms in Junebug Red. Thrown REAL shallow and under docks.

Still have not ruined my plans I have right now 10 areas that I have found away from chester frost holding same fish and some bigger .. If everything holds up this is gonna be a kickin tx we should see at least one 20lb bag or better at wiegh in from someone

You all are scaring me. I hope my partner can point me in the right direction. Trying to find a way to sneak off Friday to look around. The way it looks is that there are several patterns working right now, who can find the better fish? A kicker may not be enough, may need several real good fish.

I'll go out on a limb and say two kickers will be needed. If all this rain doesn't screw things up and the water levels don't go nuts I think NRG is right to say a 20+ weight will be caught by someone. I think it will be whoever gets on some good ones and can get them in the boat. I keep having flash backs to the G where CCSM and I should have won that one and I could not keep them on. The water looked great yesterday evening and has come up a little more, only an inch or two. JmaxemoSmile

My partner Zunker is out right (5pm) now running and gunnin and has found more quality fish around harrison bay .. said he lost one much bigger than the 4.75 he caught last tx right at the boat.  He said he caught em in the water, at a certain depth, on a pink poky dot wizbang.

Im goin out thurs or friday and do some scouting too.. I could care less if it rains, I think my bite will only get better as long as it dosent blow us of the lake or lighting dosent chase us off.</p>

Hey frazier, I tried the worm this afternoon and at first I only caught a couple quality largies on it. While reeling it back in after a botched pitch, I jerked it right out of a fat spot's mouth after he blasted it at the surface. I rerigged it on a spotsticker and began swimming it, rather than hopping, and caught a ton of quality spots along rip-rap in about 4-6 feet.

Texas, I am going to retrack what I said on the 20+. Now if someone else does it maybe but I don't think it will be me. I went to where I caught those good ones last week and the water has dropped over a foot and the bass appeared to have pulled back out. I don't think you need to worry about the 20+ now. Jmax
