Actually, I have researched it quite well. One great link is below. The term true AK-47 I am referring to is a gun actually made by Mikhail Kalashnikov (the mastermind and source of this style rifle that originated back in 1947 and turned warfare on its ear). There are dozens of variants now being made all over the world and the term AK-47 has become a generic term for a style of gun and not just a specific manufacturer. Much like people in the south commonly refer to coke when actually referring to soft drink brands of all types or kleenex when really talking about a tissue in general. The AMD-65 is used by US military forces but they are copies of the AK-47 style and are not true AK-47's made by Kalashnikov. Sorry, I guess I am a nitpickin puriest but in my book a genuine AK-47 is manufactured by Kalashnikov. Just saying.</p>
