Cool Video - Makes me want to go back down there for another redfish trip. They get thick off the beaches and in the pass this time of year. That shark may have been chasing a school.

David, you think we could get one like that in the G3? Ill pay for gas :)

Sure we can if the Gulf is not too sloshy - I have been in Pensacola pass in an 18 ft Aluminum Sea-Ark and it did just fine! I don't want to catch anything bigger than a bull red though. I'll have to let you reel in anything over 40lbs...3hrs tangling with a 600lb fish is too much like work for me :)

I had the pleasure of fishing off Cabbage Key, N of Cape Coral last year. We went to fish for snapper and grouper, but all we caught were 4 to 5 ft sharks, all day. I was sore for a week! I cannot fathom trying to even THINK of trying to catch one of those puppies. 11ft shark? Incredible. Thanks for the post! We should all plan a trip down David!!!! I didn't move south JUST to fish the TN river. Red Fish are fun.

my brother (fishmedic) and i caught a 8-9 foot bull in destin a few years ago on a charter. took 2 hours to get in, was the worse most, boring fight ever. the fish ran down to 80 feet and laid there. when the deck hands and captain were not looking (about 1 hoour 45 minutes in the fight) we tighten down the drag hoping to break it off so we could go catch something else. he was under the rod pushing up i was on the rod pulling, the fish came up. not worth the time at all.

Fishheadspin put up posting about a great Charter service in Greyton Beach a while back so I'll put it out again. If anyone is interested in a short off shore and near shore fishing trip let us know, We've been trying to throw another one together. This Charter service is ran by a Father son team who have Twin 18 ft center console boats. We've been twice and limited out in four hours. I would recommend this charter service over any of the Destin fleet boats. They can only take 4 per boat but its still very affordable. I would love to get a group together and make the trip again. Fish On Charters Service is the name, if anyone is interested in going on your own I can get you the Number. Ive referred several people there and they have always caught great fish and given great reports.

Back in june we were in Grayton beach, just before we arrived to go fishing at the beach, our captain watched 3 bull sharks 8-10 ft in length just 6 feet from the waters edge. He said it was a common site to see them that close in.

Then in October, again in Grayton we were standing on the beach watching the tide, trying to decide if it was too rough to fish, we had 2 7-footers playing in the waves maybe 10 feet from the waters edge.

I have seen one shark snorkeling on the beach in Destin,

They are there everyday.
