7-17-2006 Riverpark Cats

Alvin and I went fishing with Dhaun today from the Riverpark. The little cats were very active as they kept stealing our bait all evening. We managed to boat 3 fish and Dhaun lost his only fish of the day. Alvin once again caught the largest at 12 lbs and I caught the other two at around 5lbs and 2 lbs. Pretty day on the river but a little warm.

Yep, the cats did not want to cooperate with me tonight. They were all small stealing my bait and the decent fish I finally did hook up with pulled off due to me not paying attention and reeling in my other rod while trying to fight the fish with one hand on a poor hookset. However, I was able to confirm that MrWisker's new hole has some fish in it and they responded to the semi-secret bait, which I have altered a bit in experimenting.

The catfish Alvin caught had scars all up and down its back like it had been under a rock spawning or fanning eggs recently, which reminds me...either we saw a few grabblers down at Moccasin Bend or 3 guys who like swimming and dunking there heads and hands under under submerged trees. I guess they got pumped-up watching the news today and had to go try it for themselves.
