Me and my son made the drive down to guntersville yesterday evening to do some night fishing, put in at goose pond and ran to mink creek.Got to our first hole around 9 and caught several short fish on a blue/black jig, around 10 we had to make a dash for the ramp. The weather was really nice when we started with no wind and nice temps but around 10 the weather went crazy, not sure how hard the wind was blowing but we both got soaked by the real tall waves hitting the sides of the boat.We loaded up and crashed out in the truck until around 5:30am and then we went back to the spot we left, and man let me tell you it was nuts.My son caught a 3lb bass on about his 3rd or 4th cast, he was thowing a zoom 6inch lizard rigged texas style in the watermelon color. So being the observer that I am I started throwing a texas rigged worm(tomato color) and 10 cast later Boom, a 5 1/2 decides to inhale it.We put him in livewell and get back to business and Sha zam it happens again, a solid 5.We put him in the livewell and 2 more cast you guessed it, Golly another 5.I don't smoke but guys I needed a cig real bad after all that action.I grabbed a water and got after it again and stuck a pig, he came up and was so big he couldn't jump, he made a turn and started taking line, well to make a long story short he broke off.I don't like to guess at a fishes weight but that fish was a solid 8 or 9 and I just dropped the ball.We loaded up the bullet around 11:30 after taking pics and releaseing the fish for some fun for another day, we ended up with 11 keepers and a total of 15 fish for the morning. The weather was really nice with the overcast sky, the temps were comfortable and the action didn't hurt anything either!
