Well it must be good living, or luck. After fishing shallow running cranks for 5 hrs. with one 16inch fish to show for it.After calling Ramjack Scoot & Jmax to get a report, I talked my tenacious partner in to trying a little deeper & a little slower, it worked. First cast up close to the rip rap bank With a greene pumpkin pig & jig & wham! I had missed three small fish on a T-rigged lizard back in the shallows, & wasn't about to let this one off with out a good yank. I set the hook for all it was worth & I didn't miss. The rod bowed double & the fight was on. At first I wasn't all that excited I figured it was a drum or cat with all the ones being caught as of late. Then it went crazy & up she came jumping completely out of the water & my partner yelled you've got a 10lb.'er. She headed for the T-motor & I loosened the drag to give her some slack. I almost knocked my buddy out of the boat trying to keep up with her. Then back to the back of the boat. Then back to the front. Then out & up again. After three mised tries with the dip-net, finally in she came. 7.9lbs.
Her tail was 1/4 of the ways gone & all bloody. She was full of eggs & about to bust. What a beautful pregnant fish. So a few pictures & back she went to have all those babys.
The pic's will be posted tommrow I've got to have the disposable camera developed. I guess you could say I had one heck of an egg hunt.
