Hi guys-

Driving down from Minnesota to Knoxville area later this week for some r&r. Hope to fish with a friend of my brother, not sure, and I'll be bringing my gear. Question...what gear should I bring along? Spinning, flippin', casting, jig/pig, traps, cranks? Limited space so limited gear. We are locked in with ice for the next couple months and longer till bass season (May 26) and I've got the itch. Anyone need a partner for any 1 or 2 day open t's the 24th-25th?

Thanks
Tony

Most lakes in the area are reporting water temps in the high 30's and slow fishing. Water temp on Loudon/Tellico has been running in the low 40's. I have been having sucess on Tellico with finesse jigs and shakey worms on spinning gear. Personally, I'd leave the flippin' stick home unless your friend is into that. I would include some casting gear and some thumpin' spinner baits, lipless cranks and a jerk bait or two. We are expecting warming weather next week. If that happens, fishing should pick up. Toward the end of the week, I would head for the back of the creeks and slow roll that spinner bait. Have a safe trip. I know you're anxious to get out of the deep freeze for a few days.
