Took fishinvol down to the Riverpark tonight to chase some Nick spots. We fished the first 3 hours down past Moccasun Bend and the spots were wide open. We boated a total of 19 bass with only one being a largemouth (Madbomber, you taking notes?). The largest spot was close to 2 lbs and fishinvol lost the big fish of the night at about 2.5 lbs. Today I saw something I have never seen: fishinvol caught a 8lbs BLUE cat on a pig n jig in about 8-10 feet of water. I had to get a picture of this crazy fish. We finished the evening fishing around downtown. Great night for weather.

Total count: 19 bass in the boat, 18 were spots, had about 4 keeps with a total weight of around 6 lbs, lost about 5-6 more fish half way to the boat, and caught one crazy blue cat. Almost all fish were caught using a black/blue jig with a blue Uncle Josh pork trailer. Most fish were within 5 feet of the bank.

Good job guys, sounds like the evidence is building that the spots are taking over. Were any of them keepers? Folks who like fish, might need to start taking some of those spots home to eat and thin the population a bit.

We had 4 keep spots for sure. Some of the other ones were in the 10-12 inch ranga and if measured may have kept.

emoUpsmile Yea the whole "cuban soul revival" shirt. I get asked about that shirt everywhere I go. Actually it's just an old navy tee shirt.

Guys there is no size limit on spotted bass in Nickajack or Chickamauga.

Yeah we know. This questions was about "keepers" if we were fishing a tourny. Most tourny's have a 12" minimum on spots.

Sorry there guys I just didn't read that into your posts. Guess I should have known that regular fishing folks know the rules.

I took 10 home yesterday fishing with neighbor Hal. I'm hoping next year I can take home 30 (15 ea.)

Don't forget!! When fishing the river, keep track. I'm trying to show there are very few SMALL LARGEMOUTH & SMALLMOUTH. I not interested in the size of the spots. I believe the spots are crowding out and eating up the largemouth & smallmouth!!!

Current count is almost 100 spots, 10 LM & SM over 12", NO LM & SM under 12". 6 of those 10 were Jerdog's
