Killed a nice 8 pointer last wednsday. weighed bout 160 pounds. neck was still not swollen. but he had his head down lookin for something. anybody seein signs of rut where there huntin. were still not seein any chasin.

I have not seen the slightest bit of rutting activity, chasing and I have been in the woods 3-5 days a week since the sept. opener. Rubs and scrapes were plentiful earlier in the year. Have seen the least amount of deer this year in my three years living in Tn. However I have killed the most deer this year than ever before. Everyone has been seeing bucks chasing doe, I have yet to see that this year. I hunt several properties that have plenty of deer. The doe that I have seen were by themselves and same with the bucks. Not sure what the deal is may be its me, but several buddies that I hunt with have had the same experiences I have had. Your not the only one.

Bucks were on does HOT during the first week of black powder and slowed just a little by the start of Gun season. During Gun I have seen does and I have seen bucks but not running them. I feel the rut is still on due to the fact that my buddy killed a hugh 12 pntr who exploded out of thicket aftera hot doe, His Buck should score 175 - 180 B&C.

I am hunting the property I advertised for lease at $250.00 per season in Van Buren County

Sofar I hav seen 19 confirmed Bucks and quit counting does. Passed on three 8 pntrs.
