I personally don't use the 800kHz due to it's more limited coverage area versus the 455kHz; but I was playing around a little today and scanning the river bed and flipped to 800kHz and got some interesting images. Might have to start playing with it more as it offers a different view of the underwater world. Check out these images of the old river channel below one of my local lakes.

sure wish i knew what i was lookin at....can you tell me anything about the images to the left in the pics ? i see a line devides the left and right and coming from that line its dark blue untill you see what looks like bottom.. what view is this....hate to sound so dumb but i know nothing about this type of depth finder

Thank you posting the link that was as easy a way of teaching side image view that i have ever seen.

Thx for the post and the link. Going to look into outfitting my boat with something of that nature. How much does something like that usually cost?

Depends on the Model and Size of Screen but the 5" 798ci HD starts at $1,050 but includes GPS Mapping, Switchfire 2D Sonar, Down Imaging and Side Imaging all in one complete package and they go up to the 1198c 10.4" Screen for $2,800.
