Hey guys hadn't been on in a while or fished in ages, but I have shined up my baby and got here ready to go for tomorrow...

Anyways the trim leaks down and was trying to figure out what may be causing it, but there aren't any leaks around the cyclinder. I thought it might just need some oil, but was wondering how to add some. I found the tube that looks like where one would add oil, but not sure. Also didn't know how much to add is mark or something like that.

Thanks guys

Wes

Buddy trim the motor up as far as it will go.Then take the cap off of the filler neck.Fill up with fluid and cycle up and down a few times.Check fluid levels again. Then you ready to go.If it still leaks down(quickly) you have a bad or damaged seal inside the unit itself.Good Luck!

Trim it up and then LIGHTLY lower it onto the trailer locks. This will remove some of the load of the unit. Most of the time the internal seals on the pump get hard and quit sealing. There are 3 possibilities......

1. Internal leaks on the rams
2. Check valve on the tilt ram
3. Shuttle seals on the pump. These are the internal seals.

The shuttle seals are most common. I have had people tell me that they added transmission sealer/ seal conditioner to them and they stop leaking down. There is a allen head screw on the bottom on the unit near the anode that will allow you to drain it to add the conditioner.

Here are the pages out of the manual. This is for the aft trim but the precedure is the same. Notice on the 2nd page that it is allowed to leak down 1" in 24HRS. Hope this helps!
