I have a Johnson 175 on my boat that is running pretty rough. Anyone know what would cause the fuel bubble to lose all the pressure. We are constantly having to squeeze it to get it to have pressure. It won't idle well at all. Almost like you have to hammer down on the gas immediately once it's started to keep it running and that sometimes doesn't work. Any direction or ideas would greatly be appreciated!
 
No not yet on the fuel hose. I got to figure out where to get a new one for it first. We also just took the carb cover off and there is a small hose that goes from the motor to the cover itself that was split. Could be the sucking air theory jdw
 
I was talking about the line may have a pin hole in it I had one do just like you said and collapsed the bulb bought an all in one assembly and fixed it like new
 
I will check the fuel pressure Brock. I believe the VRO was removed or bypassed prior to me getting the boat. I was told to mix my own oil and gas by the previous owner. I may have to just take it to a shop which was what I was trying to avoid due to financial situation.
 
Most of the time dummies disconnect oil side but still use the fuel side because of the way the fuel system is designed with vacuum ports and vapor seperator
 
+1 brock is on the money, definitly rebuild carbs and fuel pump if you old style fuel pump if its a vro thats not an option. sounds like one of your carbs the needle is stuck open and its flooding the 2 cyl its supplying fuel to!!!
 
I will look into all of this. We worked on it again today and noticed that the float chamber assembly on each carb was warped and leaking some fuel around the gaskets. (Not a lot of fuel but enough for it to always have gas all inside the cowl and possibly be losing prime). I am going to replace all chambers and then see what happens after that. Brock, how do I know which side has been disconnected?
