A Good Story

I have Goose Bumps.. My parents, Myself, and a Friend named Brian have many weekend memories that are similar.. Well, except maybe that great run on bass.

Wow. What a great story. The first time I ever bass fished I was about 10 years old also. I had caught bass before but never went after them with lures. I'll never forget staggering through the woods with that first stringer of bass, barefooted, tired, sunburned and happy as all get out! Wonderful memories!

Sort of reminds me of "An Outdoor State of Mind" that a feller wrote a spell ago and it just got published. This story is almost as good as the stories in that book. If you haven't read it yet, shame off you and go get one and read it. emoGeezer

Did I say that just right, Richard? emoBigsmile

Sure does bring back some very fond memories from by gone years...I remember on a camping trip with a great friend of the young folks in our area we were having a good time. This friend was one of the most loving preachers in the Soddy area...always working and doing stuff with us and I didn't even go to his church....we were teenagers and up at the Sale Creek area we were camping and we threw him in the lake....What did he do???? he laughed along with us and that made us love him even more....I will never forget him and what he meant to all of us in our teen years....FA

Gee, thanks for such a great read! I didn't fish when I was a girl, but I spent many a summer night camping with family/friends in remote areas. Dang, back then camping was CAMPING! No fussing with electrical hookups, jockeying for a parking slot near the showers or bringing your TV or IPOD. A small bedroll, a canteen and three waxed matches. If you needed more than three matches to start your fire, you were a wouss. We couldn't wait to set up camp 100 yards from our parents (sure they were ready to have a break from us too!) and stay up til the wee hours.
That story sent me down Memory Lane, I truly enjoyed it!

Craazy's Mom

As a kid, me and my friends used to bike to Raquet's, Glass, or Crystal lake and camp on the shore. Even brought a small inflatable raft, which didn't last long with treble hooks. Mainly caught trout, smallies, pickerel and pike. I just looked and the distance was about 10 miles. Amazing that back then, my Mom and Dad let us do that with out a care in the world....
