This is a really great article... i love the discipline he's instilling in the team.

Great quote:
"It's different from before," says junior tailback Montario Hardesty. "Last year we didn't start running until February. And there's more discipline now. We can't wear earrings or jewelry or headbands. One thing I've noticed is how hard the guys are pushing, trying to make a positive first impression. It's tougher than it was, but no one's complaining."

Kiffin's efforts at discipline aren't confined to workouts. One of his rules requires that players sit in the first or second row at every class. If a player sits in even the third row, he's marked as absent and faces time on the StairMaster as punishment. "I was in my 8 a.m. math class the second day we came back," says All-America safety Eric Berry. "I'm the only player in there. Afterward my classmates start coming up to me. 'Dude, did you see Kiffin?' He'd come to the rear door and poked his head in to make sure I was there. Before, the coaches would send the weight-room guys or graduate assistants to check. But this was the head coach.

Brandon, the reason that I was such a Fullmer critic was the lack of discipline in his teams. THey never did have any discipline, no matter what any other fan or player says. I wrote him every year about it too and never did get a response. Just proves that he was so arrogant and thought that he couldn't be fired that he just let the team go to the dawgs. I know what a disciplined team looks like and I can spot one that is loosely disciplined.

It certainly seems that Lane is going to bring the discipline back and that is what it will take to beat the Alabamas, Floridas, and LSUs in this conference. It probably won't happen next year, but I wouldn't bet against it either. The most talented team doesn't necessarily win each saturday. If I was a Gator, Bama, or Dawg fan, I would be as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair factory. Give us 3 recruiting classes to catch up to the top teams in the SEC as far as talent is concerned and then watch out! emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Anybody that quotes Tombstone is a FAN of MINE!

DK, I agree with you, but I think it will only take two recruiting classes to be back closer to the top.

Jerry... i see your grip of fear is slowly loosening... come to the darkside brother.

I don't think you will anymore of the players playing grab-ass on the sidelines or anymore laughing when they are getting the S*** kicked out of them. I like this Boy!

Guys don't get me wrong, I love coach Fulmer, I was in Knoxville during their spring practice in 99 after they won the national championship. there were over 100 hs coaches there during practice. Kids came out in Jewlry, most all were not dressed the same. I was in a drill with Tee Martin and he was throwing the ball behind his back catching it while the others were running drills. Ron Gant who was an all american corner was going crazy the way the guys were acting, he bolted after that year to the NFL. If you will remember it was him who was jacking everyone up in the Arkansas game the year before, and got that D fired up at the end of that game. Well anyway I looked Tee right in the eye and told him they would not do crap that year because they were satisfied. He said your crazy coach. Never will forget it, probably should have not said it, I guess it was the ball coach coming out of me and I had forgot my place. As long as I live I wll never forget that moment, I know they were not acting like that the year before when Cutcliff was there, and dang sure the year before that when Peyton was there. I took two of my QB's to a Manning clinic, and they thought it was great until they got there. It was like the military, good experience for big headed QBS. Just thought I would share that with you guys. I too like what he is doing, and the kids will follow his lead and develope his attitude. OK another Tombstone quote, You tell them that Kiffin has went to knoxville, and Hell has followed with him.
