For the past 6-8 weeks I have been dealing with a short in my running lights. I have been disconnecting them at the battery every time. My depthfinder works on the same circiut. So to have a depthfinder while I was running I have had to leave my running lights on all day. Well tonight I said I've had enough. Took the front panel loose & all those wires! Traced the wires back from the front running light & the two were headed back to the switch on the console like they should & there was a third wire branching off

. Well I traced it to the panel & it was hooked to a switch. I flicked the switch & my lights went off! All this time all I had to do was turn the lights off at the front switch. I had apparently hit it with my foot.

Heck I didn't even know that stuff worked. Oh well I've got everything on my boat working again for now.

Jiggy, you are too funny!emoUpsmile emoUpsmile emoUpsmile Looks like the only short in your boat sits up front!

Dont feel bad when I first bought my stratos it took me 3 days to figure out the live wells they were the same way I had to flip a switch up front then turn one on at the counsal

I hate to say this but......at Books A Million they have a book called "How to Handle a Boat for Dummies".....I bet there is a chapter in there just for you....hahahaha ....you know I love ya man....FA

emoLaugh It is good to laugh at yourself and not take yourself too seriously. I have to say as others have already,"Been there done that." When I first got my green machine no one told me that a breaker switch was in the box behind the passenger seat for the trolling motor.emoRolleyes When it went out the first time I drove about 45 minutes one way to the dealer to just have him open the box and hit the switch. emoDoh Then had to drive 45 minutes back home. I just kept telling myself that it was at least not something bad.emoGoofy Jmax

This thread really does make me feel better.....I though me and EricM were the only ones goofy enough to tell this kind of stuff on ourselves!
