A look at the numbers

Do you really think that I'm going to believe some article in the Newsweek and from MSNBC, Please. There is only one station I believe in , that's the Weather Channel , and they sometimes get it wrong, too. If you believe that this country is headed in the right direction, my hat off to you, but most individuals don't think like you do . You might be financially stable, own your home and have an outstanding job. Able to buy all your toys and go on vacation every year, but some folks can't anylonger and they were hoping for the right change and hope that was promised. In November , we will see what most people think of this administration, If the Dems keep the house and senate, then that tells you that most individuals think like you do, but if the Dems. loose one or the other, then the people didn't like the change that came in 2009 . Lets just see what happens in Nov. before we start to bash either party .

The numbers don't lie, only leaving the interpretation of the numbers for debate. True news channels report both sides, not conveniently not cover certain aspects of the news.

What happen to the right's dogma of capitalism cures all ills. After all, those people should just work more or work harder, as that is the Republican's American way for capitalism. emoRolleyes

Bfish you can't have it both ways. You told me in another topic on this forum that It was low of me to use numbers. to place the blame on Islam. Here I was under the impression that you didn't believe that percentages and numbers matter. Well now look at whom is throwing around the words that numbers don't lie. I thank you for finally saying my post on the percentages of Islamic in a country before they started their uncontrolled crap is the truth now thank you very much.

Go back a re-read what I wrote. What I basically said, is that the numbers that you used don't justify anything. One could just as easy make a list of waring Catholic countries and then leap to similar conclusion (by using similar logic that you used) about Catholics. I never did question the numbers (in other words I do NOT believe the numbers were fudged, but relatively accurate), however I believe there is flaws in you jumping to conclusions about the numbers. If you take the actual time to read outcaster's link, I think it would be very hard to refute the conclusions presented.

Rather than waste your time trying to attack what I have said (actually what you thought I said), why not debate the conclusions presented?

The numbers don't lie, only leaving the interpretation of the numbers for debate.

But the people reporting the numbers do. Just like the numbers being reported by our government on jobs created, jobs saved and what ever else they report. Everyone in Congress are all bunch of liars and will only tell the people what they want to hear, not what's really going on. These lies have been told for many years from both parties. They could care less about the people, they only care about their personal gains and will lie their butts off to do so. It doesn't matter who's in charge of congress ( Reps or Dems ) , they will say one thing and do another. We can debate all day which party is better to bring our economy back on track and out of this hole we have dug ourselves into, but if they don't start working together, it will never happen.

The numbers weren't very convincing to me and I'm an independent. nothing but speculation. Nothing scientific about that analysis. Hell I could have wrote that!

Typical liberal double standard Willard.

My education Bfish will far exceed some folks. There is one thing I did in life that I can see you didn't do. I expanded my horizon on the learning curve so I made sure I wasn't as narrow minded as some are.

So lets hear it... Use the same set of numbers and argue the other side... anyone? Bubbakat?.... cmon cheez give us something other than your clever one-liners. If you go back and read my posts over the last year or so, on the same topics. I have made most of the same arguments, even before the CBO numbers were available.

What do degrees have to do with anything? I have two and I have met a lot of people with none that are way smarter than me...

Bubbakat is probably talking about being a veteran. Something very honorable.

Bfish I have seen people hold federal jobs that all they did was polish the seat with their butts. I am not going to get into a debate with you over who has the most knowledge and I can say in my resume that my degrees are in plural. Two was from the state of Texas in law enforcement. Now there are people on here that are a lot smarter then I am on some things and I would ask them any thing with an open mind. Now as for the one liners I would venture to say that at least we can finish a whole one liner without contradicting our selves from some remark we have made in the past. Don't through you federal precipitation around like it is suppose to impress some one because it doesn't impress me any at all.
You and all your knowledge couldn't handle where I have been with the feds involved, so don't even try to go there.

I believe (from context) you mean perception, correct? Beatlespin implied and I responded. I worked hard for the government and I am proud of the job that I did (and still do).
...You and all your knowledge couldn't handle where I have been with the feds involved, so don't even try to go there.
Likewise, you could not even get through door, even with your law enforcement degrees, to the places I go. Even if you could, you would be one of the polishers. Not meant as a jab but you don't have the specialized training necessary in my field (as I don't have the training for your field). I must say, I see more polishers in private industry than I did while I was in the government. I do believe that phenomena is an outlier related to my field and even my division.

Let's just agree that we both have experiences (both educational and work related) that gives us a unique perspective over the "ordinary" joes.

Typical liberal double standard Willard.
So an inexcusable lack of reading comprehension is now considered a double standard. Whatever.

I comprehend quite well. I comprehend that as long as numbers benefit your argument then they are pertinent. If they don't then they are inadmissable. Your double standard can be seen by a third grader.

I do not need to jugle numbers to see that your hero and his cronies and their message of change has been a wagon load of horse hawkey. Can I sit here and say it would or would not have been better under the Republicans. Of course not and neither can anybody else truthfully. Including this liberal biased link you posted. All I know is this. NOTHING has gotten better under olbummer and the demonrats.

Outcaster what he really is saying is "I can't cause the number are correct" and "let's blame the data cause there is nothing else to blame".
