In November 2009 (I think), Richard Simms posted the following site which goes to an article he wrote on fishing in cold water. Do yourselves a favor and watch the video that’s attached to the article. It might save your life.

A great reminder to be safe. This time of year I'm greatfull that my boat has a boarding ladder as well. I will make sure I wear my inflatable Life Jacket even while fishing on the front deck,</p>

Thanks Jerry for the reminder. My jacket is going to be on at all times I am on the water until summer. I also have a looped rope attached to a cleat to assist with re-entering the boat.

Regards, Labman

Thanks for a great post!!! One of my best friends drowned a few years back at the boat ramp putting his boat in the water. Since then, I bought one of the inflatables that is on me before the boat is backed in the water and I take it off when I get the boat out of the ramp if I'm by myself. Like Labman, I have also installed 2 rope loops at opposite corners of the boat to help get back in the boat if I fall out. Thanks again..... emoThumbsup

Anyone use the inflatable belts? I use an inflatable vest, but don't really care for it since I am pretty big through the chest/neck. Just wonder if an inflatable belt would do the trick?
