First I want to say I would rather give than receive, but this time I come with my hand out. I'm takin' an old friend who's turnin' 74 next month to a Braves game on the 24th. We used to fish allot together, but now days his health keeps him off the water most of the time. What I'm thinkin' about is drivin' down, stayin around your area the night before and tryin' to find a place on the water that we can kick back & wet a line. I can't bring the boat, so we will be limited to community holes to say the least. I'd like to make this trip as good as it can be.... Unfortunately, I doubt there will be many or any more like this for him... A place to camp on the river/lake bank would be ideal.. I usually bass fish, but this trip we'll fish for whatever. I'd really like for him to catch something though as he's not been able to go in over a year...I know Harrison bay covers allot of shore line and would probably work? But I don't know how the fishing is and if there's a better place to go? If any of you would share some places, it would be greatly appreciated.

God bless and good fishin',

Jon

I think Harrison Bay is definitely your best bet. Good camping and lots of access to a variety of water.

Welcome to the board Jon. Harrison Bay has a lot of nice areas you could enjoy fishing from the bank. Last year I took my daughter there and she caught bream, bass and catfish all in the same area. They have also installed a new fishing pier there and it looks to be a good one. I haven't got to see it up close yet but it is a nice one from what I have seen.</p>

Where you from? What is the times you are looking to be here and maybe some of us can help you get on some fish. I just took my dad and uncle out last month and I know what you mean. Dad used to be able to get out and go a lot but he isn't able to much anymore. I hope ya'll catch a load of fish and have a great time!

We are coming down from Bristol... My friend can walk down to the water ok as long as the banks aren't real steep and I know he'll want to bring a chair! I appreciate the boat offer FOODSAVER, that's more than I could ask for. I might take you up on it. The last few years, he doesn't handle the jaring from the all the boat traffic well. I don't know how the chick is on summer saturday afternoons, but our lakes up here are a chaos! Allot of fools with their bladders full, throwing big wakes, and turnin' cart wheels.... I appreciate the offers and suggestions guys. Keep them coming. If he's still feelin' up to it, we'll be down on the 24th and head out the next mornin'. I'll let you all know how things go.

its pretty rough saturday during the day however if you get an early start and fish until around noon your usually not completely overwhelmed with the boat traffic.
