I am sitting here this morning thinking about how many of us have a better half that do not get the recognition they so truly deserve. How many of us run off every other weekend or even every weekend to pursue our hobbies of fishing, hunting, hiking, ex.... We leave them behind in many of those cases and often do not even think about it. My better half has been putting up with me for the past 27 years as of today. I really think she should be nominated for some kind of sainthood for being able to do this. emoAngel To listen to me and put up with me for that long has got to be some kind of record. emoBigsmile Some of you know her and those of you who don't, she is a extremely caring, kind, polite, trustworthy, (I could go on and on)...ex....person.

A couple of you have had the pleasure and need to have her help you with your benefits and medical coverage. If it can be fixed, she will fix it. She is the Human Resources Director over the Volunteer Energy Corp. for the whole area in which they cover. She really does care strongly for everyone who works for the company and is always willing to go out of her way to assist both current employees and retirees. It is a reflection of how she feels about everyone. A true gem. I was really blessed 27 years ago to have her become my best friend and companion.

For those of you who have not found that special person keep looking. They are there and if you are lucky enough you will run into that person.

I know many of us have that person by our side. For me today, go kiss your wives and tell them how much you love them and appreciate them. I know I am not alone. It helps to tell them that every now and then. Show them you care. emoThumbsup emoGeezer Jmax

Good thread! Since I'm retired, I do all my outdoorsy stuff during the week, Weekends and evenings are for the Mrs., kids, grandkids. My wife is in a position that can be very hectic at times. Don't make this mistake: one afternoon, she came home and I asked her if she loved me (I was going to take her out to dinner so she could relax a bit). She replied, "Most of the time." I'm now up to the "majority of the time." emoThumbsup
We celebrated 40 years this past June.

Great post Jmax. My wife and i celebrated our 14th on Wednesday! She is a wonderful lady and a great friend. I also have found that one in a million. Congrats on your special day!

AMEN......I also have a "keeper"...for the last 31 years. Thanks for the post.

Amen, 42 years for the Mrs. & I. Best friend I have... and my K9 buddy! :)

I love it... I see so many well trained Hubbies ... Ha ha

What you as a man have problems accepting is this. A woman has a way of making you go do your thing on the weekends so they can rid themselves of you for a while. At the very same time they have a way of making you feel guilty about leaving them. Offer tokens of affection and you see them smile with appreciation. So you think... They are smiling in seeing the proof of their womanly skills paying off. If you do not shower them with kindness, they have no way of knowing they have you in control. Phase two for them when the rewards do not come in, is to thoroughly bitch until you humble and submit. I stole a copy of their manual from My Redhead Ex Wife. After revealing this fact, I may now have to go into some protection disguise.

Liveliner I hope you say that in a joking way. If you really feel that way you have never found the right one yet. Mine use to go with me but over the years she has grown tired of going with me fishing but still understands it is my hobbie and addiction. She has often told her friends over the years she has never worried about me cheating because she has aways known that if there was a fishing trip in one corner and a knock out good look'in woman in the other and I had my choice, I am going for the fishing trip. emoLaugh The honest truth is she is right. Beauty fades, looks fade, parts of the body will fall and sag. I have never seen this happen with a quality fishing rod and reel. emoTongue You just need to know when you have it good. Jmax
