We only had 11 boats show Saturday but we certainly had a great group of guys! Congratulations to Gabe Yeargan for his win and for big fish honors. This was Gabe’s first time fishing with us and he got started off right! Top five are listed below.
I’m not real sure what is going on at Nickajack but the weights seem to be off and most of the fish are in poor condition especially for this time of year? Just my observation.

1. Gabe Yeargan 13.99 lbs 4.57 lb Big Fish
2. Mark Riggs 12.01 lbs
3. Eric Cabrera 11.76 lbs
4. Don Lamb 11.62 lbs
5. Garry Bittenbender 10.94 lbs

Our next tournament is December 14th on Chickamauga at Chester Frost Park. Hopefully it’ll be a great day for all you guys to come out and fish while your wives are Christmas Shopping.

That lake has had alot of pressure this year to be so small. It amazes me how it keeps up with all tx's,but it keeps on kicking.Idont fish it alot but have had some very good days on it.

I grew up fishing Nickajack it like other lakes has peak periods and of course tough times. I only fish it a few times a year now but it does seem a little off. I noticed the weights in a lot of tournaments this past year were down for the most part. Since I stay on Chickamauga so much and we know how good it is the main thing I notice is how small Nickajack fishes. From Sullivans Ramp to Shellmound is not very far and if there is a tournament at both ramps along with Marion County Park its really going to fish small. Nickajack has some big fish but you don't see the 5-8lb class fish like Chickamauga or Guntersville. Since Chickamauga had the Florida strain stocking program it would be difficult compare Nickajack. After what I saw this past weekend a lot of pressure on a small body of water hits the nail on the head.

I think everyone has made valid points. (especially pressure) There's some kind of tx there every day of the week from Feb. thru Oct. I'm not sure of the reason but I have fished the Bennett Lake area for years and it has really seemed way off this year. I usually catch several 5 and a few 6 lb. fish there every year but haven't caught one over 6lbs. all year long. I 've seen a lot of skinny almost sick looking fish weighed in this year. (week after week). It just seems like something is just not right. Could be the A rig has messed up their feeding habits. Just a thought!

All the rain, cloud cover, cooler weather through the spring and summer and all thewater moving through the lakes this year has the fishing a bit different right now in my opinion. Every lake I know of in the region is fishing weird this year. Bass are scattered, not many good patterns working, skinnier fish, etc. I blame it on what I stated above about the weather we had early in the year. We had tons of rain and cloud cover. Water temps. never got as warm as normal this summer either.

I will have to agree with Dgreen but seems when the word "Pressure" is used, it tends to make the tourney folks mad... But I think most folks who fish it alot know the truth!
