Yes Jerry Chester Frost is correct.

Also to all qualifiers that are planning on fishing this, please keep in mind of what time it is getting daylight! please be there on time so that you aren't holding up take off. Also please remember that the entry fee is $145 for this two day event but the payouts will be double and the winner will also receive a brand new HydroWave valued at $375. If everyone fishes that has committed we will pay three places and first place should be well over $700 not counting the HydroWave.

Glad you ask Tommy because flat out got sidetracked on Monday and forgot. Please accept my apology for the delay?!?!
It was a pretty tough two days for all of us as we only had one competitor weigh a 5 fish limit each day. That person was Eric Cabrera. Congratulations to Eric for his win, he brought home $720 for his win and a brand new HyroWave complement's of DJ's Marine Electronics. Also congratulations to Kenny Kempka for catching the tournament big fish of 4.44 lbs. Kenny brought home $120.

1. Eric Cabrera 26.46 lbs $720
2. Gary Carter 24.09 lbs $380
3. Garry Bittenbender 19.53 lbs
4. Tommy Thompson 13.3 lbs
5. Tim Bailey 12.06 lbs

All other weights were single digit weights.

You only paid out $840.00 where did the $900.00 go when you only paid out two places? With 12 anglers ?

Look at 2nd place. ABA is not 100% pay back. Part of the money has to go back to the championship fund and ABA in general.
Also we only had 12 competitors.

Tommy, if you think that I'm doing something wrong feel free to call ABA. Their number is on the ABA website you can speak to the vice president David Hagood. Better yet feel free to call me, my number ir 706-280-0711. I've been running this for three years and I've followed the ABA payout matrix to the penny every tournament since we started this division.

Anyone who fishes the ABA does so by choice, no one is tied up to a fishing seat and pushed away from the dock. If someone who fishes them doesn't like the structure they don't have to fish them.

ABA gives two (2) boats away in this series. One in the AOY tournament and one at the nationals, I believe both are Triton 21XS with a 200 PRO XS. In the AOY tournament there is only one prize and that is the boat, winner takes all. At the nationals the boat is first prize and they also do a money pay back. Both tournaments are entry free. I’m sure that is where the extra money goes. Why do you care any way about who wins or what it took to win, because you don’t fish with us? Gary Carter is a very nice and honest man, who runs a great tournament trail. If you fished with us you with know that.

Regarding ABA Nationals and AOY final round entry. Nationals does have a $150 entry fee which is a 3 day event and they do give away a rigged 21XS with second place paying approximately 8 to 10 grand and payouts going to about 30% of the field. They will also pay out 3 to 5 grand per day for big fish. They also give away a rigged 18 ft model as a random draw. AOY Championship does not have an entry fee in a winner take all for a rigged 21XS.
Also regarding the amount of money that went to ABA. They have a full staff of full time employees that manage the American Fishing Tour which is the series that I run here locally and has division's in 40 states. They also run the ABA Couples division which will be having it's National Championship on Nickajack in September. They also run the Bassmaster Weekend Series. Which is also in several states and the over all champion in this series qualifies for the Bassmaster Classic.
