Abu Garcia 6500CL (Sold)

I have a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500CL. It has another name in between Ambassadeur & 6500CL that starts with a B but I can't make it out. I bought this several years ago and ran across it in my basement recently. It is a 3 bearing reel with 1 piece aluminum frame. instant anti reverse with a bait clicker and thumbar. The reel appears in very good condition except part of the name is rubbed off. $40
This would make someone a nice Striper or Catfish reel!

That B probably is Big Game the 6500 CL is a big game reel

It could be but I don't think it is. The big game models have a bigger frame like the 7000's and they also have the single counterbalanced T style handle. This reel is the same diameter frame as the 5500's but with a wider spool and also has a double handle just like the 4500 and 5500's. Somebody make me an offer, I'll negotiate.

This is an older black max reel, probably a 6600 instead of 6500. They are nice reels and worth what you're asking. You might get more on Ebay

I believe you are correct about the ID on this reel.

To answer footman's question: The reel is still sold pending payment due only to the fact that the buyer and myself have really haven't been in a hurry to make the exchange. If the buyer does change his mind I'll let you know.
