okay, so im ready to rig up my ABU 7000iC3 to my TIGER rod--the line finally made it in.
the reel came w/ mounting hardware, the bracket, 4 screws, two bolts, the little tool, and 4 small plastic pieces. I see how the four screws fit in the bracket, and the bracket to the reel to hold the whole thing down, but what are the other pieces for???
are the two bolts and 4 plastic squares necessary? after spending so much freakin' $$$ on this rig I really don't want to blow it all b/c of a tiny detail screw up. thanks for the input.

Well since I can't get ahold of you I'll try to explain it here. Take the 2 carriage bolts and run the nuts down the bolt to within about 1/4 inch of the head. Turn the reel upside down and observe the slots. One end of each slot is round and the other end is square. Slip the round head of the carriage bolt into the round slot. Slide the bolt over to the square part of the slot and line up the square part of the bolt in this slot. Tighten the nut up with the supplied wrench. Do the same thing on the opposite side. Mount the reel onto the rod and tighten the reel seat down good and tight like any other reel. Slip the plastic clamp half over the two protruding carriage bolts. Screw the long screw nuts onto the carriage bolts and tighten them down. Make sure you have the same amount of threads showing on each bolt so the clamp tightens down to the rod evenly on each side. You are now ready to fish.

hey thanks alot for the help guys. shes ready to go!
now i just have to decide what to do w/ my off day tomorrow-- the river for flatheads, or the lake for bass...

Go for the flatties man. You just assembled the finest catfish rig ever made. Give it a shot.
