I have a stratos that I just had a mainer 150 put on. It has a slidemaster manual jackplate (first jackplate I have dealt with). I put it in the water last week and it will not come up on plane, just points the bow straight up. After running and playing with the trim it will finally come up. When I stopped I noticed that several inchs of the cowl is under water. Can anybody give me advice on how much I should raise it (I'm assuming it needs to come up) or what I need to do to get it to come up on plane?

Watch the water pressure on your motor. If you dont have a water pressure gauge get one. You can burn up a motor in a hurry with low water pressure.

Exactly.... Yes I have one (thankfully!). Thanks for the info. It runs about 23 psi on plane and about 11 psi at idle. I assuming that is about right.
