I will be visiting family this week in Meigs County. I thought I would bring my boat with me. Are there any big tournaments happening this weekend I should worry about? Also, any tips on how and where to catch a few while I am there? Thanks for the help.

There are always tournaments on the weekends. On Saturday you just take a number and wait in line for a fishing spot. If TVA doesn't drop the bottom out of the lake, the fish should be shallow. Good Luck.

Depends on who you ask some will say no not yet others will say they are wide open on bed I believe there are some but with the rains will be hard to see plenty of fish on trap me spinnerbait stay shallow trolling motor on high and go with it

Thanks guys I have fished down there many times just not this time of year. I will make sure to get to the ramp super early. I plan on putting in at grasshopper. I fish a deep reservoir and to us shallow is 15ft. How shallow is shallow on Chickamauga?

By this weekend they should have their backs sticking up out of the water. That is if the water is not dropping. Don't be scared to get mud on your trolling motor. I think most of the fish that are on beds are the male bass. There should be a big wave of females heading in this full moon.

What's the best baits to use right now?
A green pumpkin shakey fished slooow around wood if they have lock jaw on any type of fast moving bait. I even read where a wackey rigged senko was catching fish.

last weekend I caught several decent females off bed, there were tons of males up and a good number of females...have to hunt and peck for them though...didnt fish a lot only looked a lot....
