Former USC coach Lane Kiffin is interviewing Thursday to be the offensive coordinator at Alabama, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad. Lane Kiffin to interview at AlabamaDoug Nussmeier left the Crimson Tide on Thursday to become offensive coordinator on Brady Hoke's staff at Michigan. The 38-year-old Kiffin visited with Alabama coach Nick Saban prior to the Sugar Bowl "to share ideas and exchange ideas ... [for] professional development," Saban said at the time."Lane is a really good offensive coach, and I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for him," Saban said then. "Just to come in and brainstorm a little bit to get some professional ideas with our guys is a really positive thing."Kiffin was fired by USC in late September after a 62-41 loss at Arizona State. He registered a 28-15 record with the Trojans following a one-year stint at Tennessee, where he was 7-6.Nussmeier helped the Tide to averages of 38.2 points and 454.1 yards per game this season

I see those 2 bumping heads constantly. But that might not be a bad thing for Bama. Since Kiffin isnt the head man he'll have to back down and answer to Saban. Kiffin may be a terrible head coach, but he does know offense.

I hope they have extra security for Lame when he arrives on campus in Knoxville. I bet someone is already planning T-Shirts for that game. Oregon had shirts saying, "We hate Lane Kiffen too!" BAMA fans will love seeing Lala Kiffin replace Katherine Webb as the hottest female in the stands.

Kiffen could have been the best thing that happened to Tn. I saw more improvement in that team in one year than I have with any other coach. The only reason fans don't like him is because they saw the same thing ....then he up and leaves and kills all our hopes of a rebuilding program. That was his dream job and he knew that if he did not take it now more than likely it would not come around again.Don't blame him. Same thing happens in the real world every day with every day jobs. I think he is a good coach and in the right place will shine. Good luck to him in the future. emoWorthy

Kiffin has never had success as a head coach. Period. Aside from knowing offense, he cant coach. He doesnt have the personality nor the intangibles to be successful.

If he is such a great coach, he should have done well at USC. They have the recruiting base and everything else in place to have an awesome team, if they have a coach worth a hoot.

This is going to put added pressure on Butch Jones when the third saturday in Oct. rolls around. May be the best reason yet to hate bama! emoBadLanguage
