I have a '94 Mariner 200 EFI and while running yesterday a beeping alarm sounded and would not stop. Just prior to the alarm the gas and oil line came loose from the front of the motor and the motor shut off when it ran out of gas. I reconnected the lines and made sure the clip was secure and restarted the motor and it ran fine but after running for a few minutes the alarm sounded. I checked the oil reservior on the front of the motor and it seemed to be about 1/2 inch low. Could this be the reason for the alarm? Had good water pressure and the motor seemed to be smoking the same as usual.

If it was a inter mitt beep, that indicates a oil injection issue. Solid beep is overheat. Common problem is the nylon gear on the crank will strip and will stop the rotation of the pump. It may also be a sensor or module. Pm me your email and I will send you the oil injection section out of the manual and this should help you figure it out. I really suggest you remove it and mix your own oil. I build many Mercury V-6's a year and NONE of them go back together with the oil injection system. Just my .02. emoToast
