What can you tell me about these? I know NOTHING about all this hi-tech TV stuff. Only sports I watch are the Superbowl and the Olympics, I have better things to do with my life. The wife wants something better then we have for movies n such.

Mitsubishi WD-60735 60" 1080p DLP TV

I studied for years...everytime I`d think the price was about right.... they come out with a new technology. Plasma, LCD, LED,edge-lit LED,Back-lit Led,3D....Finally bought a Samsung 8000 LED 3D about 2 years ago. At the time with a lot research and reviews from different sources, It was the best available for less than $4000. I got the 55" TV, Blue Ray 3d player, 2 pair of 3d glasses and a movie for $2512, shipped to the door from Amazon. The 8500 was about $4500 and a 9000 was about $7-8000 I believe. I`ve been watching for the same Tv/wo the player for that price and the closest has been a 7100 for about 2700 , a little less but nearly the same TV as the 8000. TV`s haven`t changed all that much in the last 2 years technology wise but most are adding a Smart Browser for the internet. Mine hooks to the net and works on my wi-fi too but it drive me crazy trying to synchronize all that stuff. The 3D is cool but I`ve only used it a couple of times...it was $300 cheaper to buy the `10 3d 8000 than the `09 non 3d 8000. Things like 240 MGHZ and full HD do make a difference but it`s all in what you are willing to spend and what you want. After watching a 35" standard TV forever going to HD was shocking.
I think the DLP may be a plasma TV thing, can`t really remember much about but it was somewhat dated tech when I was studying it a couple years ago.
Plenty of info on the `net to help you decide.

DLP is a thing of the past, they are heavy, bulky and take up room. Not knocking that TV by any means but unless it's around 300-350 max i would find something else, that's about all it's worth and when you have to buy a picture bulp for 100$ a few years from now it might be hard to find. Look for a plasma, you can find some nice ones for a decent price. and PS, not everyone that watches a little TV has no life, plus proly hard to watch TV when you're padding that post count! haha emoPoke emoParty

Sorry... I bought a Phillips (52-inch Plasma) from Walmart. It was the best deal I could find at the time (several years ago).

It has been fantastic!!! emoApplause No problems whatsoever and a picture to die for. Best purchase I ever made...

That, however, does not mean that the aforementioned Mitsubishi wouldn't be just as great.

My only suggestion is to review the warranty with a fine toothed comb. My ever-diligent wife even went to the effort to be sure there was a local repair shop that would cover any repair, if necessary (since obviously Walmart wouldn't handle it directly). She then called the shop to get the details on exactly how a warranty repair would work, and a non-warranty. So IF we'd ever had any problems, we already knew exactly what the deal was.

That gave us great peace-of-mind... and as mentioned, it's never been necessary.

My two cents says to listen to SNUFFY. Lets say I look at tvs everyday for a living and what he has is the best way. Samsung makes some really good hd tvs and they don't murder the standard rf signal as bad, but look awesome in HD. I've dealt with different customers who have had some warrenty work done from them and they all said the customer sevice is good. Go either walmart or bestbuy and buy the extra warranty. 3d isn't used much right now, but to me they have the best pic even when not 3d.

Samsung 55 inch led with web browser I bought at best buy last month for 1,400. Been great so far

My .02 worth. STAY AWAY from Sanyo. I haven't had mine that long....when a big brown spot surfaced. It started in the middle...but has worked it's way to the side of the picture.

if you are going for a better tv. do not go with a LCD or the 3D tv's go with an LED. i fell in love with mine. if you dont watch alot of tv now, you will if you snag an LED

We have had a Samsung 55" LED for a few years and been very happy. I bought a 35" Samsung for my wife to have in her sewing room and it's been great too. On the other hand I had one of the old Toshiba's for about 20 years and although BIG it never did give us a problem and my wife's anut has used it now for several years.

If I had to get one today I'd look hard at the SAMSUNG'S ................ Sam's had a good price on them as do HHGregg.

Parents have a Mitsubishi 65 inch and it has a really great picture. The tv only weighs around 65 lbs.

I got a 55 inch lg led. Nice tv. It is 3d and uses the passive glasses.

Stick with a name brand and you cannot go wrong.
