Hit the river around 8:15 this am to find it extremely foggy. Managed to follow the banks to get to our first stop. Only managed a few Crappie with 5 really nice ones and some nice Gills. All came on BG MM and Kalins Grubs. Decided to move to a place I caught some smaller Sauger last week. This time to my surprise we did manage to catch 1 keeper which totally shocked me. The small ones were still there and in large numbers. We managed to go through 6 dozen minnows and boat over 30 cigars. All were caught on hair jigs tipped with the minnows in about 15' to 22' of water. Pretty sure these are the males and hope the females will follow in 2 or 3 weeks. Would be nice to have a descent mess of these to eat. All were released to fight again. Large Gills are starting to get the pink tint to them. They will be abundant in large numbers before to much longer. We are going to give Nick-A-Jack a try next Friday weather allowing.
