I just wanted to post this thread to help anyone who had the same problem with a leaky jon boat. I had a 1-2 inch crack in my jon boat that leaked like a sieve. I tried using aluminum brazing rods with a propane torch, had a guy attempt to use a oxy acetylene torch, even tried to use that stuff on TV that's like spray rubber without much luck. The problem is the aluminum is so thin and flexes constantly when trailering or on the water. I called several shops and couldn't find one that wanted to help me with a tig weld. Finally after a recommendation from a friend I called a shop in down town Chattanooga called Pierce Welding & Machine. They were able to fix my leak with a tig weld for $75 and the quality was fantastic and rock solid after several trips to the lake. Of course the price depends on how long it takes for each situation but I'll post some pics of what my crack looked like before they welded it. I would imagine they could fix leaky rivets as well. I just wanted to post to help anyone out who has had the frustration of a leaky jon boat. Fell free to PM me if you have any questions.
