A lightning strike on a fishing boat killed one man and injured another. State wildlife agents say Saturday's
strike on Old Black Bayou near Lake Charles killed 44-year-old Joe Landry. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His fishing partner -
Richard Bergeron of Lake Charles- was treated and released later Saturday from a hospital. Investigators say the two were attempting to
pick up anchor and retreat from a small storm when lightning hit.

My boat is aluminum but even if mine was fiberglass I would not be on the water in lightening. I was out this morning and it started raining and I kept fishing. Then I heard thunder and saw lightening and I headed back in and called it a day. I don't know of any fish that is worth my life. I was caught on lake Erie when I was a kid with my father in a lightening storm. It is really scary when it hits the water only a few hundred yards from you and you are the tallest thing out there! emoRain
