You may have seen this on the local news; however, for those who have not it warrants repeating.
Richard Overton America's oldest WWII veteran and oldest man in the US passed away at the age of 112. He served in the Army in the 188th Aviation Engineer Battalion, an all-black unit that served on various islands in the Pacific. He was at Pearl Harbor; Okinawa; and Iwo Jima. He didn't take any medicines and enjoyed his vices....to include whiskey in his coffee...sometimes straight...and smoked cigars. He also enjoyed church, especially the singing. Thank you for your service brother and may God rest your sole. I will remember you when I enjoy a fine spirit and cigar.
