Thinking of outfitting a new boat with 3 lithium ion batteries for the troller. Hearing about your good (bad) experiences are appreciated. Saves about 40 lb per battery and what I saw at the Classic have a 10-year warranty. I know they are $$$ but if they last 10 years + it beats buying new batteries every couple of years, not even considering the significant weight advantage. Got to convince my boss (wife) though...

ive got a source for a single 36v lithium, weighs in at 45lbs....$1K(includes charger). ive been running it for over 2yrs. had a 3 instances where the pcm shut the battery down after chopping mats on gville for hours(2 of them turned out to be issue with the trolling motor, put a grass ninja blade on my ultrex and havent had it happen again). i wont ever go back to agm

Just make sure your charging system is set up to address Li batts. Newer systems are multi-functional (wet, AGM, etc). Older units may not be. The weight reduction and life are worth the $$ IMO.
