We launched out of Wolftever around 1pm and headed out into the bay. I had seen CFF'er X's (since he hasn't posted a report and his tip may be top secret, I'll keep him anonymous
) truck at the ramp and gave him a ring to see if he could give us a heads-up on what the bass were doing. He said to meet him and he could put us on them before he called it a day.

Mr. X was fishing a hump that topped out in the upper 20s with 40 feet around it. While describing the spot, he was kind enough to stick a 2lbr to show us that the fish were there
. We tossed out a marker by his and within a few casts I landed a slick. Before heading back in, Cff'er X made the proverbial 'one more cast' and landed another 2lbr. Needless to say, we decided to hang out there for awhile. For the next three hours, we circled the spot and boated 7 keepers and 6 shorts. Although we tried a variety of lures, a T-rigged Zoom Mag II worm and a shaky-head Zoom Trick worm, both in junebug, were the most effective. Oddly enough, all the keepers were between 2lbs-2ozs and 2lbs-7ozs
. Unfortunately, the MGMW'ers saw what fun we were having and decided to spoil it for us. By 4:30, they were swarming all over us and we decided to bail and find something easier to fish.

We decided to hit the grass that had been so good to us last week. I'm not sure if the weather had the shallow bass in a funk or if our presentation sucked. Either way, we burned up the next two hours by chunking everything in the box around the grass. As we were packing up to head back to our first spot, I noticed a little stick peaking out of the mat. On my third flip with a Tiki craw, I got bit and swung for the fence. Let me be the first to say that taking a 1oz Penetrator to the sternum HURTS
. After recovering, I made a half-hearted flip to the same spot and actually stuck him this time. Our only bass from the grass ended up being our big fish of the day at 3lbs-8ozs.

As we approached the deep hump we started on, we were bummed to see someone on it
...apparently CFF'er X's secret spot was not so secret. With little fishing time left, we opted for Plan B, which was any community hump in Harrison Bay with no one on it. The only one unoccupied was the series of small humps at the orange marker by the Wolftever bridge. We worked the one closest to the marker for the next hour and only came up with a couple slicks and another 2lbr. We called it a day right at dusk and headed on in.

Aside from the searing heat and the pesky MGMW'ers, we had a pretty good day. We boated 18 total with half of them measuring but the best 5 only weighed 13lbs-7ozs...too many 2lb twins. Since that isn't worth bragging over, I'll add that I drank 64ozs of Powerade and a 20oz Aquafina over an 8 hour stretch and never took a leak...top that
